By the editor of the "Chandos" Classics. Published by Frederick Warne, the Albion Edition of this work. Including a frontispiece portrait of Shakespeare. Handsomely bound in full calf prize binding for King's Lynn High School, with their gilt coat of arms to the front board. Containing a prize bookplate to the front pastedown: 'King's Lynn High School, Prize for Second Place in Form IVa, Awarded to Marianne Stibbon, Presented by The Mayoress Headmistress E. Harrison, 11 May 1906'. Also containing a loosely inserted post card addressed to 'Miss M. Stibbon' from a 'Betty Taylor'. CONDITION Handsomely bound in full calf prize binding, with gilt detailing to the boards and spine. Externally, very smart, with some minor shelf wear and a few marks to the front board, and rubbing to the joints and head and tail of the spine. A few small scuffs to the read board. Prize bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. A few spots to the first and last few pages, and the odd spot throughout, otherwise pages are generally bright and clean.     I bought this for the copy's associations with a family I'm interested in, thanks to the suggestions about provenance in the seller's description. The description and photos told me all I needed to know about the book - clearly the right family, though I have my own view on the individual who owned it - but that is part of the fund of an old book. It arrived promptly - a couple of days' delay caused by UPS - safely packaged and a good price, I think.
