Description
Complete 30 volume set. Bound in three-quarter leather with marbled paper boards, gilt decorated spines, gilded page edges and marbled end papers. Previous owners intricate bookplate attached to inside front covers. Limited edition, numbered 974 of 1,000 sets. Illustrated with black and white, and color engraved frontispieces, and two tone full full page illustrations. Undated, but circa 1895. Condition: Near Fine. Books do not appear to have been read. Red leather has some slight variation in color, as expected with old dyed leathers. Some bindings were cocked (most likely stored on their backs at some point, but now they are stored right side up, and that should soon dissipate.

The order was shipped promptly, securely wrapped, the content was preserved, free from underlining and markings. Although they were stamped from library, the Seller has an eye for rare findings. These will propel my researchs well beyond what is covered in physical classes. A bit pricey, but worth the investment. As Sir William Osler states: “It is hard for me to speak of the value of libraries in terms which would not seem exaggerated… I have received incalculable benefits.”
