A new edition, carefully revised by Charles M'Intosh (McIntosh, MacIntosh), gardener to his Majesty King of the Belgium's at Claremont Publisher: Wm. S. Orr & Co, Amen Corner, Paternoster Row, London,1847 Illustrated: Contains 8 black and white and 10 coloured plates as called for, one, Annuals on page 99 is printed in Oil Colours by G Baxter (Patentee) 3 Charterhouse Sq. This is George Baxter, the inventor of colour printing. Baxter Prints being collectible in their own right.(see scans) Condition: Crisp half calf over marbled boards leather-bound hardcover with embellished bright gilt title to spine (see scan), STRAIGHT & CLEAN in GOOD CONDITION with name inscription to the front endpaper (see scan) with mild rubbing to covers (see scans) there are occasional mild fox-spots but the book is INTACT, ROBUST and TIGHTLY BOUND POSTAGE: Postage is free within Australia and includes Australia Post tracking and Insurance. Overall a nice example of a justifiably famous work covering French, Italian and English gardens as well as types of soil, growing from bulbs, and a great variety of plants including roses, in its original binding.
