A complete set of seven small hardcover books attractively bound in 18th-century leather. Good condition overall. Spines rubbed and a bit crinkly-looking. On volume I, the head of the spine is torn and thereis a small ink stain on the side edge. Spine labels chipped on volumes I, II, IV, and V. Owner signatures inside. Occasional old pen scribbles in volume I. Mild insect damage to side edge of last 30 or so pages in volume II. Frontispiece torn out of volumes IV-VII. Front free endpaper torn in volume VI. Pages a bit browned with age and have occasional mild stains and blemishes. Text is still easily legible, and binding is secure. Item #175862 An anthology of writings by Anglican cleric and novelist Laurence Sterne (1713-1768). Each volume measures approx. 6.7" x 4.2"

Very well packaged. Better than some other sellers that just ship books in a Manila padded envelope. This seller had wrapped it in bubble wrap then placed in a box full of packed paper. Because of this extra careful attention the 139 year old book made it safe to its new forever home. The book arrived on time. As described. Great value for a book this old. The stain on front cover is exactly as described. I would prefer it to not have the stain but it definitely adds character.
