Description
This is full genuine leather bound in new condition, never opened or read. There is no damage to the leather, no damage to the gold gilding of the page block, no frayed bookmark, no sun fading to the moire end pages. There is some form of unevenness to the gold gilding of the page block, as shown in the photos. Photos show no sagging of the page block, which means it was never displayed and the top has not separated from the spine . 'The Sound and The Fury' by William Faulkner is one of Franklin Library's ‘The 100 Greatest Masterpieces of American Literature’, with wonderful attributes: •Fully and tightly bound in genuine leather. •22kt gold accents deeply inlaid on the "hubbed" spine and covers. •Heavy duty binding boards enhance the book’s durability. •Superbly printed on acid-neutral paper that lasts for generations. •Sewn pages – not just glued like ordinary books. •Handsome moiré end pages and a satin-ribbon page marker. •Gold gilded page ends. •Rigorous inspection at every stage ensured adherence to exacting standards and the highest quality. •Superb craftsmanship and commitment to quality. The appeal for collecting Franklin Library comes from having these attributes taken way further into the exquisite quality, durability and craftmanship, than Easton Press and Folio Society managed with their productions. This book is the perfect companion out on a park bench with a hot cup of coffee or snuggled up in front of the fireplace. Despite its all-inclusive nature it still feels very light and compact at a size of 3 x 16 x 24cm. Wonderful to hold and excellent reading experience.
