Collected Writings of the Late Ralph Phillip Weinberg By Ralph Weinberg. Privately printed in NY in 1898 in a small edition. Essays and poetry by Weinberg (1877-1898.) Published by his family as a memorial volume after his untimely death from tuberculosis the year after he graduated from the College of the City of New York. Weinberg was a prize-winning writer, and subjects in this volume include the Holy Grail, William Seward, Cuba, the American Revolution, and Reconstruction. Also includes a small selection of poems, two in facsimile of the original handwritten manuscripts. Unsigned, 15-page introductory memoir of Weinberg's life. vi, 158 pp. Frontispiece portrait of Weinberg and one plate of two academic medals he was awarded. Printed on Ruisdael laid paper with wide margins. Sturdy 8vo binding of full black leather with silver lettering. 8.5 by 6.25 inches. VG overall with light external wear. Light to moderate foxing of the text pages throughout. Tear at the bottom of the portrait plate, not affecting the image. A sound copy of an uncommon book.
