I am listing some Select Old and Vintage Books this week. ___________________________________________ Here is a Scarce 1863 FIRST EDITION COPY of "THE FAIRY BOOK" by DINAH MARIA CRAIK. Boston: MacMillan and Co.. 1863. "Sixth Thousand" printing. Book is 6" x 4". 368pp.. This copy bound in old green cloth covers with red leather spine with all three page edges gilded. No owner's name or bookplate in book. The exterior leather with cracking halfway down on edge of front cover and spine. The front cover is cracked open but still attached okay to book. The first few leaves of text stick out slightly and so are exposed a bit on outer edge. Most pages are clean-looking but a minority have stain or blemish spots (see photo of a worst example). A wonderful and early collection of some of the classic tales. Early printing of the first edition. Will box book with care for buyer as with all my books.
