Antique Crosley "Library Universal" bookshelf book volume radio. The case is indeed the original crosley model 141. It does seem to be some ones project though as the inner guts are a philco. The exterior is a good survivor for something from the 30s there is a little fraying at the edges of some of the leather books and some small hits here and there but overall its quite pleasing to the eye. And in quite good shape. The inside (rear of the books doors AND) cabinet inner surround sides/top/bottom also seem to the original leather (ish) surround. The Radio (guts and face plate) are not the original. They seem to be around the same generation (or similar) philco Model 48. The wiring should be reviewed the old cloth covered wire likely should get replaced, though I did plug this in and I do get the hum of sound though I dont know that I get AM in my location and I did not extend the antenna. But it does seem even with the old wiring it is at least humming and seems to be at minimum semi (if not fully) functioning. The philco on the face plate seems to have a peel and stick like wood grain and this has lost adhesion to the Speaker cloth and thus its curling over so it was held up for the pictures. Also the Philco is missing the knobs as you can note in the pictures. But the original cabinet itself outer and inner seem to have not been hacked up. Just a new smaller radio body and face plate retrofit. Its a super cool rare survivor. I wish it had the original inner components but in general its a great item.
