Poems by William Mason. Published 1805, London for Thomas Willis. 235 pages. Text in English. Stipple engraved frontis portrait. Beautiful period mottled full calf binding, smooth spine, gilt bands and compartment urn decorations, gilt title lettering on contrasting black leather label, gilt ruled covers, marbled edges and end papers. Spine leather surface crackled in past with small flaking, spine ends worn, joints slightly cracked but covers remain strongly attached. Text block remains clean, tight, and sound. Interior contents clean and largely free of any age spotting. Book remains well preserved and attractive on the shelf. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive. I ordered to prints from the seller-- both are absolutely lovely, and as described. Seller was responsive; when I asked if he could ship both prints together, he was happy to do so and refunded the price of shipping for one of the purchases. Prints were packaged well-- would buy from this seller again.
