The product is a large antique Victorian scrapbook dating back to 1902-1904, featuring a leatherbound cover. It is a collectible item made of paper, ideal for those interested in vintage memorabilia from the early 20th century. Beautiful Victorian scrapbook made between 1902 and 1904 by someone who resided in Bucks county Pennsylvania. Made from an old business ledger, it is a leather-bound book which measures 13.5x9.25 (inches). The owner must have received this from her father or someone who didn't need the ledger anymore since the original entries can still be seen under the pasted down newspaper articles, lithographs and other items. Of particular interest are the numerous color advertising lithographs, a patent seal, and a seal from the district of Alaska from 1903, along with a couple of programs or leaflets from the 1904 St. Louis world's Fair. The contents of the pasted down articles seem focused on esoteric and morbid topics like funerals. There are numerous funeral invitations along with death notices etc. There are also references to English and Russian royal families and other goings-and in and around the Bucks county and Philadelphia areas. I didn't count up all of the pages but there must be dozens as it measures 4. In thick. There are a couple of areas where the scrapbook skips but almost every page is pasted down with articles or other keepsakes on both sides. Condition : good. Leather binding is still intact, although it does show drying out and rubbing and scuffing. The paper has toned with age and the condition is about what you'd expect for a well-maintained scrapbook which is over 120 years old. Not in perfect condition, but definitely a nice displayable and showable condition. Would benefit from a good leather moisturizing treatment or polishing.
