The first collected edition was just 5 years prior, in 1870. Highly intricate gilded calf. Marbled edges. An attractive set. Condition: In exceptional condition for the age. Leather is supple. All hinges sound. Set has generalized shelf wear. One cover has removed tape affecting the marbling paper, front end paper with closed tear. This is shown in the pictures. The paper is slightly yellowed. Leather is incredibly supple despite the age. Old inscription from 1875. Old pricing in pencil. Oliver Twist has tape removed from the front cover and torn end paper. All hinges fresh and sound. Some rubbing and abrasion as shown. Leather is extremely strong and supple despite the age. An exceptional set. Approximately 7 inches tall. Elaborate gilded calf.
