Bound in burgundy leather, the book has matching moire silk end leaves, hubbed spine, acid-free paper, satin book marker, gold gilt on three edges---in near FINE condition. Willa Cather, who lived from 1873-1947, was born in Virginia but moved to Nebraska when she was nine years old. Cather graduated from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, and lived in Pittsburgh for nine years where she taught high school English. At age 33, she moved to New York City where she lived with her domestic partner, Edith Lewis, until her death thirty-nine years later.
