Wallace Stevens, who lived from 1879-1955, was an American modernist poet. He was born in Pennsylvania and graduated from HARVARD and New York Law School. Stevens spent most of his life working as an insurance agent in Hartford, Connecticut. He was awarded the PULITZER PRIZE for Poetry in 1955.
