Bound in hunter green leather, the book has matching moire silk end leaves, acid-free paper, Symth-sewn binding, a satin book market, gold gilding on three edges---in Fine condition. Lillian Hellman, who was born in 1905, was a New York dramatist. "Six Plays" include: "The Children's Hour," "The Little Foxes," "Watch on the Rhine,"---a play about an anti-Nazi in the U.S. with his American wife who is forced to murder to fight against Hitlerism; "Another Part of the Forest," "The Autumn Garden,"---a play about middle-aged people trying to recapture the sense of youth; and my favorite: "Toys in the Attic," set in New Orleans and treating the theme of miscegenation. 448 pages.
