His reporting on China in World War II and Europe in recovery and his books on US presidential campaigns have certainly had a large influence. In this memoir In Search of History : A Personal Adventure , White, the son of a Jewish immigrant from Russia, takes us through his early years and experiences at Harvard, his time in China, his work with Time Magazine , and the writing of The Making of the President series for which is probably most remembered today. THIS HANDSOME LEATHER BOUND SIGNED COPY is from The Franklin Library's collection of Limited Author-Signed Editions and it was published in 1980 . It's cover is dyed a dark blue and the impressed gilt design is continued on the spine with its four raised hubs. The muir silk end pages are also dark blue as is the sewn-in ribbon page-marker. There is a general index. The book is in very good condition but it does have what appears to be a water crease on an inside page where White's other books are listed. We tried to photograph it for this listing but the flaw did not show up clearly. Because of the mark we have reduced the price of this signed copy.
