Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky (December 1866 – December 1944) was a Russian painter and art theorist. Kandinsky is generally credited as one of the pioneers of abstraction in western art. Born in Moscow, he spent his childhood in Odessa, where he graduated from Odessa Art School. He enrolled at the University of Moscow, studying law and economics. Successful in his profession, he was offered a professorship (chair of Roman Law) at the University of Dorpat (today Tartu, Estonia). Kandinsky began painting studies (life-drawing, sketching and anatomy) at the age of 30. He moved to France in 1933, where he lived for the rest of his life, becoming a French citizen in 1939 and producing some of his most prominent art. I am beyond thrilled to have this rare first edition copy of "The Girl Who Ran for President"! I had never heard of Belva Lockwood, neither has anyone else I know. I loved learning about her story and received this book quickly which was a bonus. It was packaged well which I appreciated - the seller put in the extra effort to assure I received the book as described. The price was on point for the item and I'm so happy to add it to my bookcase.

Book arrived as described - very pleased indeed with it. Had excellent communication with Ryan (the seller) over a difficulty with the postal system in the US - all was resolved satisfactorily.
