Description
This is full genuine leather bound in new and sealed condition, never opened or read. This is a very rare 2 volume 1966 leather bound publication from the time Easton Press together with Franklin Library was at the forefront of leather productions. This is old Easton quality, so expect the best. This 2 volume book is the perfect find, perhaps the last one to be found in plastic wrap. It laid in waiting for nearly 60 years to find its unique loving owner. The Collector concerned with durability will appreciate that this production has pages with proper thick paper as opposed to the modern black leather single book that has cigarette thin papers. 'The Count of Monte Cristo' by Alexandre Dumas is one of Easton Press's unique publishing from The Collector's Library of Famous Editions , with wonderful attributes: •Fully and tightly bound in genuine leather. •22kt gold accents deeply inlaid on the "hubbed" spine and covers. •The volume features illustrations and ornamentation by Lynd Ward. •Heavy duty binding boards enhance the book’s durability. •Superbly printed on acid-neutral paper that lasts for generations. •Sewn pages – not just glued like ordinary books. •Handsome moiré end pages and a satin-ribbon page marker. •Gold gilded page ends. •Rigorous inspection at every stage ensured adherence to exacting standards and the highest quality. •Superb craftsmanship and commitment to quality. This book is the perfect companion out on a park bench with a hot cup of coffee or snuggled up in front of the fireplace. Despite its all-inclusive nature it still feels very light and compact at a size of 4 & 4 x 16 x 24cm. As mentioned, this is old Easton quality with normal book sizes. Wonderful to hold and excellent reading experience.
