Silver Gilt page edges A fantastic insight into John, the Who and some absolute classic instruments beautifully photographed. John was the original collector of vintage guitars and virtually started the genre. "John Entwistle provided the heartbeat of iconic UK ?60s band The Who. Like his contemporaries George Harrison and Eric Clapton, over the years he invested in one of the greatest collections of guitars. Now, for the first time, they are displayed through superb photography amidst the setting of his rural home in England. This project was the last that Entwistle was working on prior to his sudden death. Close to his heart, this book not only contains stunning photography of his superb collection, but also insightful anecdotes of how he came by each instrument and its present-day value, as well as his own quirky musings on life. John Entwistle was not only one of the all-time great bass players, he was also the first major collector of vintage guitars - years before it became fashionable. But while he had been collecting avidly since the early 70s, few had been privileged to see the fruits of his labours, beyond the odd tantalising glimpse in guitar magazines and that all-too-brief segment in the 1978 film The Kids Are Alright. Bass Culture brings together all his guitars, beautifully photographed at his Stow-on-the-Wold mansion and with quirky comments and observations from the great man This is actually a snapshot of the collection as it was in 1996 (John died in 2002), that being said, it's still fantastic and there is there is much to salivate over here, from a fabulous Blonde Stack Knob Fender Jazz (surely one of the finest and most valuable basses in the world) to an array of custom built Alembics. John showed the way on guitar collecting and appreciation and it is great to finally get to see the results of that dedication." These books will probably never be in print again in this format. Grab a piece of music history! Brand new and in mint condition. Thank you for looking.

Don’t like to complain Delivery went to wrong address initially and had to be recalled , and resent out , but was a little confused as Vinyl was black and not yellow as described !!!!!! Delivery obviously was prolonged. Seller did provide a bonus dvd to smooth things over. Seller did say I could have money back when item was wrongly delivered elsewhere. I stated I wanted to proceed with purchase
