Description
Antique 1866 Volume XVII of Atlantic Monthly, A Magazine of Literature, Science, Art, and Politics, as pictured. Issues Jan-June 1866. Fresh on the heels of the Civil War.....this volume is rife with articles sharing thoughts and opinions on the war. Oddly, there's also an article by Edwin Booth (John Wilkes Booth's brother) about the theater. We found no mention of his brother or the death of Lincoln in his piece. However, we also found it odd that it was even published to begin with, given his relation and how fresh Lincoln's death would've been in the public's memory. Several poems by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Leather binding. Binding appears to be intact, but fragile? Approx 9 1/2 x 6 1/2". 780 numbered pages. Please refer to pics for evidence of condition and email with questions. Thanks! NOTE: See our other listings for additional Atlantic Monthly volumes - Vol XV from 1865, and Vol XVI from 1865. Will combine shipping. Thanks!
