Description
Shown is an ornate leather-bound antique Victorian photo album from the 1860's. There are no photos inside so it is ready for you to fill. The front and back covers are in fairly good condition for their age, with wear around the edges. The spine is in good condition with no cracks or rips. Both front and back are embossed in gold and feature oval portraits of women. Its 2 stamped brass book clasps are in good working order. The page edges are carved and gilded in gold. Inside, it is stamped "Harding's Patent Photograph Album / Patented March 8th, 1853 / Extended 1868 / May 14th, 1861." Some of the pages inside are not in very good condition with some stains and tears. Store your precious ancestral photos by sliding each picture into the slot at the bottom of each page and gently pushing it upward inside the paper frame. Turn the page and feed another photo into it so that it is back-to-back with the 1st one. Each page should contain 2 photos. Each frame holds photos measuring 2 1/2" x 4". As Civil War reenactors, we use these albums for our own family reenacting photos after transforming them into sepia prints. They can also hold collectible Victorian scrap. This leather Victorian photo album measures 4 1/2" wide x 6" long x 1 1/2" thick. Thanks for viewing and have a wonderful day!
