Hello, I'm selling this antique group of (4) leather bound small books. Some are more valuable than others, but they came in a group and I thought I would keep them that way. Condition good minus, good and good plus. 2 books are a matching set. Here is a list of the books with short description. All are as is. Please review photos below for condition, or defects. ALL BOOKS ARE LEATHER HARDBACKS, no dust covers. All pages are honey/butter toned from age. Smoke free. They are all very old, cherished mementos passed down thru the generations of my friend. 1. Biblia, eller den helig Skrift, innehallande, Camla och Nna Teftamentets Canonifta Boder, 1881 Stockholm, Cremplaret coftar. Text is only in the Swedish Language, about 1342 pages. This is a Bible containing both old and new testaments. Gutter cracks at both end papers, inscribed in Swedish to "Yohanna Sofia Bengtoorv i Sannagard". Cover is worn especially at the spine, but book remains complete and intact. It remains sturdy, and firmly readable. 2. De Krlige Evangelier uch Espistlar, Red der til horanbe, collecter och Boner, temte de wanlige Knrfo och Communion Boner, Stockholm 1812, Text is only in the Swedish Language, 332 pages. Inscribed 1814, the insignia on the cover indicates King Karl the 13th (ruled 1808-1818). This is a prayer and letters regarding Christian life and rituals. It matches book no 3. Good condition, firmly readable 3. Engangs Psalms, title page missing, matches book 2, most likely same date of 1812. It contains the biblical Psalms. Although there are 500 listed, it may have a different cataloging style, there is a register and an index guide in the back. Text is only in the Swedish Language, 404 pages, the last page is loose. There may be some other chapters, but since I don't read Swedish, I'm not sure. Without title page or end papers. Fair to good, with defects, firmly readable. 4. Paroissien, Romain, Tres Complet, Partier D'Hiver. (this is my favorite, it's such a cute little book. MR). End paper has some holes and marks, like something got stuck to the page. Title page is missing a corner notch on the lower right. There is a book number that starts N. 79, but the rest is missing. Back of title page reads Vu et approuve: Charles, Archeveque de Tours. As well as part of the publisher name ... opriete Des Editeurs. There is a lovely frontispiece etching of Saint Jean L'Evangeliste. Signed L. J Hallez and J Chevron as part of the work. At bottom noted Ad Mame et Files Editeurs Tours. The title page after the frontispiece looks to be torn out and thus facing page reads: Notions Sure Les Rubriques et Sur les Diverses Fetes de L'Anne, the word "Vespers" appears which makes me believe that it too is a book of prayers, and Christian worship book. Als the words Memoire du Dimanche, which refers to Sunday services. And includes a calendar of when and what to study during the year. This book is only in the French Language. All 4 books are related to Christian study, worship and doctrine. A nice group to add to your shelf of antiques or decorative book collection . -- Defects : Yes these books are not in perfect condition, they've been well loved. -- Please see photos below.
