Industry reviews: "These stories reveal a particular sympathy for internal exiles, the casualties of convention, but at their best the stories themselves are impersonal. the central character is usually a young girl, but it is her best friend or sister that takes the risks and pays the penalties. Although the girl looks on intently, in some way she is not involved." New York Times Book Review - Adam Mars-Jones (01/31/1985) Condition: Binding - very good, moderate scratching to the page edge gilding and one of the spine hubs is slightly bumped. Dust jacket - none, as issued. This book arrived very very well wrapped; it is obvious to me that the seller loves books and wants them protected. The book was in great condition, just as advertised, and the price was quite fair. I am happy with this purchase and will buy from this seller again.
