IT IS ONE OF THE MOST HIGHLY-PRIZED & MOST BEAUTIFUL EDITIONS OF THIS GREAT CLASSIC YOU CAN FIND. 🍍 NOT INCLUDED... 😃 The International Collectors Library was a book club series published by Doubleday Book & Music Clubs, Inc. from the late 1940’s through the late 1980’s. Generally, the books followed the 8-1/2″ x 5-3/4″ book size format. The binding designs were adapted based on old “Golden Age of Bookmaking” bindings, and made to look like leather-bound copies (leatherette). The bindings were embossed with 24K gold embellishments, and some copies had gilt edges (thin layer of gold leaf) applied. A sewn in satin ribbon marker was also added in most books. There were over 400 editions published in a variety of bindings. Some editions came with loose-leaf inserts that described the book club, the bindings and design styles, and a story synopsis of the book-in-hand. ABOUT THE BOOK: A CULT MASTERPIECE―THE ADVENTURE NOVEL THAT INSPIRED JOHN HUSTON'S CLASSIC FILM, BY THE ELUSIVE AUTHOR WHO WAS A MODEL FOR THE HERO OF ROBERTO BOLAÑO'S 2666 Little is known for certain about B. Traven. Evidence suggests that he was born Otto Feige in Schlewsig-Holstein and that he escaped a death sentence for his involvement with the anarchist underground in Bavaria. Traven spent most of his adult life in Mexico, where, under various names, he wrote several bestsellers and was an outspoken defender of the rights of Mexico's indigenous people. First published in 1935, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre is Traven's most famous and enduring work, the dark, savagely ironic, and riveting story of three down-and-out Americans hunting for gold in Sonora. Description CONDITION: Book is in AMAZING condition for its age (1963 EDITION) with some negligible wear to the edges of the boards, spine, and some age spots to the page ends, something very common in these old editions (SEE PICS FOR BETTER DETAILS). This package was literally packed in five different boxes packed with plenty of padding and came all the way from Hawaii to the states in perfect condition as exactly as described. I would highly recommend this seller as they went above and beyond the whole way even wishing me Mahalo in a very sweet note. Wonderful experience from beginning to end.

This book was wrapped so carefully and in so many layers that it took 5 minutes to open it! It is in beautiful condition, exactly as described and was worth every penny. Considering it shipped from the other side of the country it got here in a reasonable amount of time. Couldn’t be happier!
