Bound in full crushed morocco by Hatchards Ltd with a binder's signature to the front pastedown. Printed on India paper. This volume features the complete collected works by the celebrated William Shakespeare. The work includes Shakespeare's most popular plays including 'Romeo and Juliet', 'Macbeth' and 'The Tempest' along with his sonnets and a preface by W. J. Craig. CONDITION Bound in full crushed morocco. Externally very smart with bowing to the boards, fading to the spine, the odd slight minor mark to the boards and slight cracking to the tail of the front joint. The odd minor mark to the leather to the endpapers and binder's signature to the front pastedown. Internally firmly bound with the odd spot, heavier to the front blanks, and generally bright pages with occasional light creasing due to the delicacy of the India paper and the odd minor pencil notation.     I bought this for the copy's associations with a family I'm interested in, thanks to the suggestions about provenance in the seller's description. The description and photos told me all I needed to know about the book - clearly the right family, though I have my own view on the individual who owned it - but that is part of the fund of an old book. It arrived promptly - a couple of days' delay caused by UPS - safely packaged and a good price, I think.
