Collected Poems of Edwin Arlington Robinson, The Macmillan Company, New York, 1930, 1007 pp plus index, full leather, 8.25 x 5.5”, 8vo. In good condition. Boards are faded from sun exposure. Lightly edgeworn with minimal scuffing to tips and endbands. Spine discolored from sun exposure as well. Lovely gilt compartments remain bright and clean. Inner dentelles clean and bright. Hand marbled end papers remain bright as well. All edges gilt. “Bound by Riviere and Son, London” on rear of front flyleaf. Textblock lightly toned. Tissue guard on frontis remains intact. Binding tight. Free of known markings. Sound. Please see photos. Reprint edition in superb Riviere binding! Robert Riviere (1808-1882) was a British bookbinder of Huguenot descent. The excellent workmanship and good taste displayed in his bindings gradually won for them the appreciation of connoisseurs, and he was largely employed by the Duke of Devonshire, Samuel Christie-Miller, Captain Francis Capper Brooke and other great collectors. He also bound for the queen and the royal family. He won medals at the Great Exhibition in 1851. This was bound by Mr. Percival Calvin, who took over the business in 1880. COLL1930ADGN

The shipping was fast and the book was extremely well packaged. The book itself is exactly as pictured and although rare books are expected to be expensive, I was able to get a small discount that at least covered the shipping. I'm happy with my purchase, so I can say that it was a good value. I love to find old relics that kind of come full circle to find their home.
