Externally very smart with fading to the spines, joints and extremities of the boards, slight rubbing to the raised bands to the odd volume, slight marks to the boards, wear to the extremities and white marks to the front board to 'Volume 16'. Bookplate belonging to 'Franz James Mankiewicz' to the front pastedown with offsetting to the front free endpapers. Internally firmly bound with clean and generally bright pages with very minimal age toning to the odd volume. Overall Condition: Very Good Indeed GLOSSARY OF TERMS Overall Condition (Dustwrapper condition rating is shown after that for the book itself, where a dustwrapper is present) Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear Very Good Indeed - Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy Very Good - Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy Good - Meaning not very good.     I bought this for the copy's associations with a family I'm interested in, thanks to the suggestions about provenance in the seller's description. The description and photos told me all I needed to know about the book - clearly the right family, though I have my own view on the individual who owned it - but that is part of the fund of an old book. It arrived promptly - a couple of days' delay caused by UPS - safely packaged and a good price, I think.
