The Works of Edmund Burke, with a Memoir, Complete in Three Volumes, Published by Harper & Brothers, New York, 1849, full original leather, frontis of Burke in Vol. I, 9.75 x 6.25”, 8vo. In fair condition. Moderate wear to extremities with scuffing to corners and joints. Spine desiccated and afflicted with red rot. Compartments are flaking and abraded. Boards are smoother in appearance and feel with light scuffing and wear. All edges marbled, albeit faded. Marbled end papers bright. Ex-library of Messiah College presented by Mr. Frank Masland, II. End papers moderately foxed. Interiors lightly toned with consistent foxing throughout, heavy at times. Tissue guard on frontis of Burke intact and foxed. Bindings are all intact. Free of known marginalia. Please see photos. The works of philosopher, Irish-Britishpolitical leader and economist Edmund Burke (1729-1797).
