Description
This is an antique piece of history recently purchased from an estate sale. It is entitled "Memoirs of Andrew Jackson, Major-General in the Army of the United States and Commander in Chief of the Division of the South" by S. Putnam Waldo. It has a full calf leather binding with dark maroon and gold striped bands on the spine. It was published in 1820 by J & W Russel and is a stated fifth edition. Condition: The front binding is cracked. There are scrapes and deterioration on the leather cover. There is a lot of old writing and doodles on the front and back inside covers and foxing throughout the book. There are several pages where pieces have been cut. The previous owner wrote his name in several places--lightly scratched into the cover, on the ends of the pages. Be sure to check my listings for more antique and collectible books.
