Description

This is an antique piece of history recently purchased from an estate sale. It is entitled "Memoirs of Andrew Jackson, Major-General in the Army of the United States and Commander in Chief of the Division of the South" by S. Putnam Waldo. It has a full calf leather binding with dark maroon and gold striped bands on the spine. It was published in 1820 by J & W Russel and is a stated fifth edition. Condition: The front binding is cracked. There are scrapes and deterioration on the leather cover. There is a lot of old writing and doodles on the front and back inside covers and foxing throughout the book. There are several pages where pieces have been cut. The previous owner wrote his name in several places--lightly scratched into the cover, on the ends of the pages. Be sure to check my listings for more antique and collectible books.

This antique 1820 memoir of Andrew Jackson is a stunning piece of history! The full calf leather binding with maroon and gold stripes gives it a regal look, despite some wear. Holding this fifth edition feels like touching the past—perfect for collectors who love authentic vintage books. The cracked binding and aged leather only add to its charm, making it a rare treasure for any history enthusiast. Absolutely worth adding to your collection!
