Please don’t be afraid to make an offer This SET OF BIBLES was owned by Samuel Price Wetherill the V (I Believe) there seams to be some dates across the websites on the internet mix up exactly how many Samuel Price Wetherills there were. From my count there seams to be 5 and the one that is commonly referred to as the III is actually the IV from what I can match up record wise and this Bible belonged to the V. The IV Commonly known as the III is the One known for his work with Zink. Samuel Price IV was also a field commanding officer during the Civil War. These Bibles were given to Samuel Price Wetherill V for Christmas (as dated in the Bible) from his sister Maria in 1859 a few years before the war. This Samuel Price Wetherill would have been around 13 when he received these. These bibles do have hand writing from what is believed his sister (pictured) as well as other family. There are also birth and Death records recorded in the Bible written by hand. The dates in the Bible seam to not exactly match up to some of the information found on google. For example it shows on one site that Samuel Price Wetherill V was born in 1846 when in the Bible here it shows 1844. Like mentioned above it seams as if there is a miscount of how many Samuel Price Wetherills there were and or what the genealogy for them was. Here are some things I have found on the internet. One of the other 2 has half the spine and the one with the records is the one with no spine that will need repair. Pages are all in good shape howyand repair should be easy for a skilled book repair person.
