Each volume is bound in leather with gilt borders and spine decoration, marbled endpapers, and frontis illustration. The ADVENTURER was originally published in 140 parts 1752-1754. Many of the essays were contributed by the editor John Hawkesworth; other contributors included Samuel Johnson, Joseph Warton, Richard Bathurst etc. Thank you.
